At the Overseas Chinese Institute of Technology, the Health and Sanitation Section looks after the physical well-being of the students. The Section offices include the school's Health Center.

The Health Center staff includes a full-time nurse and a physician who sees patients three afternoons per week. Services offered by the Health Center include regular physical exams for students as well as in-patient and emergency treatment. The Center staff counsels students on good hygiene practices and monitors all students receiving treatment. If further treatment is required, the Health Center refers students to public health care providers.

The Health and Sanitation Section develops and implements environmental protection and health and fitness training programs, as well as monitoring the college's potable water resources.

Food

The modern stainless steel kitchen and air conditioned dining facilities at our cafeteria have been awarded an “outstanding” rating by the public health department of the Taichung city government. In these clean, comfortable surroundings, students enjoy diverse and nutritious meals at reasonable price. Our snack bar also offers light meals, sandwiches, and drinks.

For students who want even more variety, the Feng Chia District is only a few minutes away. Cheap and delicious food (as well as clothing and sundries) can be easily obtained there. For the convenience of students, our school issues a special VIP Card with which students can receive discounts in many stores, including fast-food restaurants, traditional Chinese eateries, and beverage parlors.

Housing

Students are encouraged to live in the campus dormitories. The Yen Ko Dormitory Building houses the cafeteria and snack bar on the first floor, the boys' dorm on the second floor, and the girls' dorm on the third and fourth floors. There are forty rooms per floor. On the second and third floors are six-person rooms, while on the fourth floor are four-person suites, each with a private bathroom. All rooms are furnished with beds, desks and closets.

Our campus dormitories provide an environment where residents can meet and study and interact with teachers and other students. In addition, different kinds of social activities are regularly held in the dorm, such as movie appreciation, KTV contests, picnics, and barbecues, to name just a few. For the sake of dormitory security, both boys' and girls' dorms are locked every night. There are also Military Science Instructors on duty in the dorm to ensure student safety.

Off-campus housing is also abundant. In the Feng Chia District, students will readily find studio apartments for rent. Monthly rents are usually low, and transportation is very convenient. The Feng Chia District is an ideal location as it features popular coffee cafes, fast-food restaurants, video stores, copy shops and bookstores.
