Founded in 1964 as a privately funded college in central Taiwan, the Overseas Chinese Institute of Technology (OCIT) is dedicated to excellence in teaching research and community services. OCIT has a proud tradition of providing educational opportunities for intellectual and emotional growth in a broad range of disciplines and professional fields. Integration of the latest technology throughout the College strives to create a stimulating environment in which students, faculty and staff can develop their interests, skills and talents to the fullest extent. Diverse extracurricular activities are offered through which interpersonal communication and cooperation skills can be cultivated as a compliment to sound study skills and preparation for life long learning. As an aid for later career, students are required to master basic computer skills and be proficient in at least one foreign language, especially English.
 

The Overseas Chinese Institute of Technology is filly accredited by the Ministry of Education, Republic of China and offers both bachelor and associate degrees in Applied English, Applied Chinese Language, Financial & Economic Law, Information Technology, Environmental Resources & Management, Business Administration, Information Management, Marketing & Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering & Management, International Trade, Accounting Information, Banking & Risk Management, and Finance. Also three Master Programs are provided in Management, Engineering Technology, and Global Logistics Management Extended Education Class.

The faculty consists of more than 450 full-time and part-time professionals. The student body of almost 9300 students is divided into 217 day and night classes. In recent years, OCIT’s entering freshmen have had the highest average entrance exam scores among private colleges and institutions in central Taiwan.

Grading system: grades vary from 0 to 100. The minimum passing grade is 60.

By expanding faculty, curriculum and infrastructure, OCIT aims for accreditation as a university in the near future.
